A monthly salary and monthly bills fit together. Weekly pay and monthly bills do not, and about a fifth of our beta was paid weekly.
Spreading a bill
Groat divides each monthly bill by the paydays before it is due and sets that much aside from every pay packet. Rent of £780 becomes £195 a week.
Months with five Fridays
Four months a year have a fifth payday. Groat treats it as extra and asks where it should go, in the same way as the payday review.
Irregular pay
If your pay moves about, tell Groat what a lean week looks like. It plans on that, and anything above it is extra.
